I honestly have to say this was a bad place to stay. Room was sub-par and very old. Rust in the bathroom, carpet stains and run down furniture. Rusty tissue holder feel to the floor when you grabbed one. Pics online are clearly false. If I could attach pics of the actual room I would. Stayed one night and cancelled the rest of the nights. Hotel manager was VERY understanding and accommodating with our cancellation. He is a gem! web gave me a bit of trouble and took their time with my credit. Location was good but this hotel needs major renovations. Sorry Park Shore :(

We really enjoyed our stay at Park Shore Waikiki. We arrived after midnight, and in the late night hours we were a bit worried. Our fears vanished when we woke up to a spectacular view the next morning. Definitely choose the ocean front view/suite! The hotel promised a great location and it delivered! The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a mix-up with one room, but they adjusted by providing a roll-away bed on the first night and then arranged for a new room the following evening. Not a lot of frills in the rooms/hotel, but it was clean and comfortable. Lulu's was great. The music was a little loud on Friday night. If we return to the island , we would plan on staying here again!

The hotel was okay. Not elegant, but we weren't there to hang in the hotel. We enjoyed the ABC store and the Starbucks often. They were right underneath the hotel. There was a great restaurant above the Starbucks. It had a terrific view of the beach. We enjoyed Kuhio beach right across the street. We enjoyed walking to the Zoo and around the Zoo daily. The staff was very friendly. Our rooms were always refreshed by 10 in the morning, so it was great to come back in the afternoon and not have to leave again to have the room cleaned. For most of the sightseeing tours we chose, we only had to walk to the hotel next door, or the hotel behind us to be picked up. We were picked up right at our hotel to return to the airport. Overall the experience was great. The only negative thing was Kuhio beach is the local hang out for the young Hawaiian street people. Some of them were very noisy, but we never heard them from our hotel, just at the beach. So we often went farther down the beach to swim and enjoy the ocean. But the hotel was very quiet and comfortable. Overall not a bad vacation or hotel to stay at. The Walling"s of Ione, California

We booked the hotel and then called for the upgrade to a suite. We had college students and ourselves in the room and it was never cramped. We were given a Diamond Head Suite that gave a clear view of Diamond Head and the ocean. The "view" from the lani was beautiful. The small kictchenette was perfect, and allowed us to enjoy Hawaiian coffee every morning, and make simple meals on the run. We usually hit a nice restaurant for dinner. We chose Park Shore Waikiki because it is located directly across the street from the beach. Our son who is stationed in Hawaii with the Army was able to park his car at the hotel, and enjoy the vacation experience with us. Hotel staff and vallet were friendly and felt like family by the end of the week. Lulu's restaurant was located in the hotel and open to enjoy the sounds and view of the ocean. Starbucks and the ABC (everything) stores were on ground level and very convenient! The Zoo is also located directly across the street, the trolley and city bus service go right by the hotel. Cab service was very prompt, but be prepared to tip constantly. Our son was our personal tour guide, but the hotel offers many tours right from the lobby. The opportunities are endless, but do make plans to see the Arizona Memorial, USS Missouri. do a luau, take a boat or Mai Tai cruise to see the beach from the ocean view, parasail, snorkel, rent a car and visit the North Shore (watch the turtles come ashore), and there is no shortage of good (and somewhat expensive) restaurants. Everyone welcomes you in Hawaii!, so enjoy! Mahalo and Aloha! The Norton Family Morris, Illinois - (University of Wisconsin & Schofiled Barracks, Ohau)

We stayed two weeks in this hotel which is literally across the street from Waikiki Beach. We had booked a standard room, but when we arrrived we decided to upgrade. The extremely courteous and friendly staff worked to find us another room on the 11th floor, looking out at the beach and Diamond Head. We paid extra for the upgrade, but it was definitely worth it. Honolulu Zoo and the vast Kapiolani Park are across the street, making for great views. The bus stop is right across the street and a very convenient way to get around town. The rooms are clean, bright, and well maintained. HIGHLY recommend staying at this hotel. Hula's Gay Bar is next door, and a great watering hole for the city's gay and not-so-gay patrons. We walked to virtually everything on Waikiki Beach, and the hotel travel desk was very helpful with car rentals, tours, etc. Recommend you rent a car through the travel desk - rates are better. This hotel was the best decision we made - would stay there again in a heartbeat. It sure beats some of the pricier Waikiki hotels. You won't find a lot of fancy glitz, but the lobby is pleasant, WiFi is free in the lobby and the second floor, and Lulu's Surf Restaurant is off the 2nd floor, and has seating with views of the beach. Be warned: Lulu's gets loud in the evenings, and you can hear the live music on the ocean side.. So if you sleep light, try and stay as high up as possible. We are very discriminating, seasoned gay travelers, and we just loved this hotel! During the tsunami in Feb 2010, the staff were completely professional, informed, and in control. No worries if you stay here.
