We were put in the 9th Floor next to the elevator lobby. The first thing we noticed when we got to the hotel front door is the 1 inch gap opening between the door and the floor. That means anything that happens in the lobby we can hear anytime of night and day, and we did. Worst is yet to come... starting from the 2nd night, the next door suite has children, sounded like 2 and 5 year old, yelling and screaming.... at 530am for 2 hours!!! The parents did not do anything nearly material except for "O why dont you be quiet" once in an hour to make them quiet, as if they didnt know it was 530 in the morning and there are ppl living next to them. The walls are not to blamed, but it's the door that connects adjacent rooms that flows all the noise over. I actually turned on my video camera and recorded all that, then played it all back to the manager at 7a when he comes in. Of course they cant move us to another room bc they are all booked at that room type unless we want a down grade. We didnt want to downgrade and hoping the annoying ppl will go away next night. But no luck, 3rd and 4th night they are still screaming at 5-6am. Though the location is very convenient to everything, and the beach is literally walking over the pool and you are there. You could actually see the ocean from balcony and even sea turtles peeking up from time to time. We will NEVER ever stay at this hotel again, sound proofing worse than a cardboard box. We were exhausted early everyday bc we do not get to sleep well every morning.

Booked a partial ocean view room in May 2010 for 7 nights and loved the hotel. Beautiful location, great pools - especially the Infinity pool. Also enjoyed the on site restaurants includiing Rum Fire and The Edge Bar. Hotel is in shopping/entertainment area of Waikiki described as "Rodeo Drive" of Hawaii, but I didn't do any shopping. Can't wait to go back.

We just got back from a week long stay at Sheraton. We had a very positive experience. We had 2 rooms and did not ask for adjoining rooms in advance, assuming that we would be able to get them. The hotel was almost sold out when we got there and it didn't look like we were gonna be able to get the rooms adjoining. But I, the front desk clerk went out of her way to try and get it for us. And she did. The rooms were in great shape. I read in some other reviews that the room didn't have a chair or lounging area and the was true in the room with 2 beds, but the room with the king had a chair. The rooms were not small and they both had lanais. We traveled with 2 teenagers and a 6 year old. There was something for everyone to do, either at the hotel or in the immediate area. Very close to shops and restaurants. Right on the beach and a very nice children's pool. I was skeptical when I booked this trip because of some of the other revies, but overall I have to say it was a great trip and a very pleasant experience at the sheraton. We would def. go back.

I stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki, April 2010, the hotel was clean and the location great especially if you get an ocean view. The bathroom had water damage on the ceiling, but besides that the hotel was excellent.

Last summer, our family of four visited Hawaii and stayed at this newly renovated Sheraton. We've stayed in several hotels in Hawaii but, as we prepare for this year's trip, we know we'll be staying at this Sheraton Waikiki again. We've stayed at hotels from the foot of Diamond Head (New Otani) to the end of the Waikiki strip (Hilton Hawaiian Village) and the location of this Hotel is the best. It's right in the heart of everything, BUT, it's sheltered at the end of a long drive and to one side of the Royal Hawaiian. This makes for a great location but also quiet and hidden from the hustle and bustle of the main drag. The lobby is fun from start to finish, beginning with a turtle sculpture that our daughters loved, through to a nice Koi pond, shopping, and opening onto two pools. We enjoyed the food, too--from a counter cafe (Peets) to beach-side lunches (Rum Fire) to dinners atop the 30th floor (Twist). Of all the hotels we've lodged with, this property had the nicest room. It was newly renovated, really, big, had two balconies, and nice amenities like a refrigerator and flat-panel TV. It was really amazing. Even little touches like vending machines, ice maker, and even a laundramat easily satisfied our smallest whim. Best of all (at least according to my wife and kids) was the amazing Resort Pool. It had two slides (big and small), a water fall, two pool areas, two hot tubs, and even an area that was only ankle-deep or so for the smallest children. You can eat at the pool or connect right to the beach easily. We had a great time at the Sheraton Waikiki and won't hesitate to go there again.
